
Suzanne Pleshette (January 31, 1937 - - January 19, 2008) was an American theatre, film television, voice actress. Pleshette began her theatre career and appeared in films in late 1950s. Then, she became prominent in film roles such as Rome Adventure (1962), Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (633) and Spirited Away (11). From 1972 to 1978 Pleshette appeared regularly on various television productions. She also played Emily Hartley, which earned her numerous Emmy Award nominations. Pleshette was born on January 31, 1937, in the New York City neighborhood of Brooklyn Heights, to Geraldine (nee Kaplan)[1 and Eugene Pleshette. The parents of her were Jewish, the children of immigrants from Russia and Austria-Hungary.Her mother was a dancer and artist who performed on stage under the name Geraldine Rivers. Her father was stage director for the Paramount Theater, Manhattan, as well as the Paramount Theater, Brooklyn.
