Singer was born November 26th 1986, on the 26th of November, 1986 in Santa Monica California. She is the daughter her father Vincenzo Barba, and mother Valerie Barba. Her family and she moved to Point Pleasant New Jersey when she was six years old. She completed her high school education in New Jersey at Red Bank Catholic High School. She graduated from Catholic University in New Jersey with a bachelor's degree. Her first violin lessons began when she was four years old, and she was known as the Violin Girl. In recognition of her skills the violinist was referred to by this name. Children from her community were taught to play violin by her. For the sixth season of American Idol, she sang Free in 1976 when she was 19 years old. The show was cut short after the 16th rank.
